2020 Virtual Galway Bay Swim raises €183, 246

We are delighted to announce that the final amount raised from the 2020 Virtual Galway Bay Swim is €183, 246.87. This would not have been possible without the huge support from all the swimmers. This is the most successful Bay Swim ever!

What a rollercoaster the past few months have been. Having to cancel the Galway Bay Swim was a devasting blow to Cancer Care West and a huge disappointment to the swim organising committee. We never imagined how successful the Virtual Bay would be. Swimmers signed up from all over the world to take part and support Cancer Care West. To get from zero to the amount raised shows the amount of effort put in by everybody.  With the cancellation of all face to face fundraising and community based events this event has been an absolute life saver for Cancer Care West. During this crisis our support services and residential services has never been as busy and needed so much. Each swimmer has really played their part in helping cancer patients.

The feedback from swimmers on how much they enjoyed the event has been brilliant and we hope to be able to run something similar again.
