This year saw a dual crossing (over and back) by two swimmers – Sorcha Barry and Kevin Thornton. The wind speed was 13 – 15 knots (Force 4) from a SSW direction. This was favourable for the majority of the swimmers on the crossing from Aughinish, Clare to Salthill. However for Sorcha and Kevin, they were swimming against the wind for one leg of their crossing from Salthill over to Clare. Overall, a great achievement by both swimmers.
